Neuro Linker

A wireless terminal that establishes a wireless quantum connection to the brain, supporting the five senses such as hearing and sight.

Brain Burst

An application that increases the processing speed of the mind so that 1 second = 15 minutes, using cameras it allows for one to look and move around their surroundings in their social avatar. Due to this it is also very much possible to see the answers to written tests or allow oneself the time needed to think of a way out of a situation if need be.

Burst Link

The command used to activate Brain Burst and thus the power of 'Acceleration', this costs 1 Burst Point to activate.

Physical Burst

A command used to speed up the thought process and cause time to seemingly slow by while in reality reaction and thought processes has sped up, this can be used in situation such as fights or kendo to easily win. It costs 5 Burst Points to activate this and lasts for little more then a few seconds.

Colour Chart

The Colour chart, with 5 main colors which denote what sort of fighting style an avatar has, namely:

Red: Long Range Combatant
Blue: Close Range Combatant
Purple: Mixed Range Combatant
Green: Close range with a focus on defense
Yellow: Indirect Combatant, includes illusions and teleportation

Depending on how much White is mixed in will determine how 'balanced' a Duel Avatar is, in turn the more Black that is mixed in the more 'exotic' the abilities of the Duel Avatar become. As much mix of an avatar can have of black or white, they cannot escape their original style or in the rare cases they are much more proficient in the original style of their color.

Black and White are special cases with the former being an unknown other than from what we do know having properties of 'rejection' and the latter being a complete balance in abilities.

To note, it is unheard of of two avatars bearing the same colour.

Metal Colour Chart

A different chart to the former, on this chart metals range from precious to solid, normally those to the side of Precious have resistances to special damage while the solid have resistances to physical and more mundane types of damage. To have an avatar of the Metal Colour chart, it is birthed from thick and solid mental scars (refer to Mental Scars Shell). Those of the metal color also enjoy the advantages the metal would have in real life as Brain Burst attempts to follow the rules of Real Life and make the game as life like as possible, this also however means that each metal has it's own weaknesses.

Originators

The original 100 similar to the original Brain Burst, they are the 100 who were given Brain Burst by a mysterious individual thought to be the creator of Brain Burst and in turn they have no 'Parent' that would be the norm for when one Burst Linker provides a copy of Brain Burst to another. Other than being one of the first 100 to enter the game they have a unique advantage to older players, that being the Unlimited License and the Aptitude Test. The former allows them to 'parent' any number of people, unrestricted while the latter allows for them to see if they are eligible for the programme to begin with.

From the original 100, only few remain.

Fake Originators (RP exclusive term)

Similar in the way to actual Originators, Fake Originators received a mail with the Brain Burst programme however it is obvious that this is where the similarities end. They are otherwise normal players other than being irregularities in the system due to how they entered the game. The one who sent the mail and programme is noted not to be the creator of the game but another individual, supposedly hacking the normally only transferrable by Direct Link limitation. If said person is an Originator or a normal player him or herself it is remain to be seen.

It is noted that the ones sent the mail were picked for one reason or another.

(In the RP, contact Dranes in case one wants to start with such an origin however right to decline is available.)

Movement Control System

A system used to control the Dual Avatar. The Avatar is normally entirely manipulated by the system

Image Control System

A system to manipulate the avatar by imagining (Image) it strongly. With a mechanism that works considerably different from the usual Movement Command System, there are extremely few people who can handle it. The important part to the Incarnate System

Incarnate System

A technique that interferes with the Image Control System in the Brain Burst programme, bringing about a phenomena that exceeds the game's limits. Also called Writing Over (Overwrite).

Zero Fill

A state where the Burst Linker's will to fight has been broken and disappeared leaving the avatar little more then a lifeless husk, mostly affecting those who have switched to the Image Control System and in turn a very dangerous position if one has this occur to them. Strong stimuli can cause this effect as well as situations of utter despair.

Legion

Refers to a group created by several individuals, with the aim of expending their occupied areas and protecting their privileges. These include being unable to be challenged while in their territory, there is one leader to each of these legions known as the Legion Master. The only restriction to creating a Legion is the need to be level 4 and at least one other person however it is impossible to participate in territory battles without at least 3 able combatants.

Territory Battles

Battles between Legions over territory, priviledges in such include that one cannot be challenged on their own territory by another. In addition these battles occur every Saturday at 17:00.

Battles work in the sense that one side declares war on another, if there is no defender (unclaimed) that is where the battle ends. Otherwise there will be a battle of three versus three.

On opposite sides of the map each Legion has a base where they can passively regenerate/fill their Killer Gauge. It is also possible to destroy the base as to stop the enemy team from having this bonus.

The objective is to have a 50% win average by the end of the battle, that is to say more 'kills' then the enemy team. If there is a tie between number of combatants alive by the end of match, it will be decided by who has the most total health % left between the two sides.

The number of combatants can be any number but must be equal amounts on both sides, Defender's have a choice on the scale of the battle however they cannot choose a scale that would be impossible for the invading legion to match.

To note in this battle Burst Points are neither gained or lost.

Judgment Blow

A close ranged attack available to Legion Masters which allows to instantly uninstall any member hit by this attack. To note those who leave a Legion are still eligible to be struck by this fatal blow, though it is only eligible on leavers for a certain amount of time, set by the Legion Master on creation with the normal time being that of 1 month.
(For reasons RP, this will be the set amount of time in the RP as well.

Mental Scars Shell

Refers to the shell encasing the scars of the mind, the Childhood Trauma that sets the foundation of Duel Avatars. It is said that children that develop exceptionally solid and thick shells will give birth to a metal-colored avatar.

Unlimited Neutral Zone

A field restricted to duel avatars at level 4 or above, geared towards heavy players. It is designed with a game system different from the normal 1v1 Standard Battle Fields, with a degree of freedom easily comparable to even that of future's VRMMOs. The only way to exit this zone is to use one of the exit portals located throughout the Zone, death in this zone causes a 1 hour respawn timer. To note as well, pain is always felt in battles however in the Unlimited Neutral Zone the pain experienced is twice as intense.

Unlimited Burst

The command used to access the Unlimited Neutral Zone, it costs 10 Burst Points however there is no time limit as to how long one can stay in the Unlimited Neutral Zone.

Shop

Scattered through the Unlimited Neutral Zone are NPC managed shops, these shops sell a variety of goods which include: special effect card items to armor reinforcements, clothes and foods/drinks, and on top of that, even a «Home» where buy and sell is possible. The weaponry EAs and clothing aren't anything of note compared to what can be obtained in dungeons however they do add to appearance.

UNZ Railway System

In the Unlimited Neutral Zone there is a train system that can be used by Burst Linkers to travel around the Accelerated World more easily however it costs Burst Points to use this system, specifically 1 BP per station (so if it would take 3 stops to get to your destination the total cost would be 3 BP).

Dungeons

In the Unlimited Neutral Zone there are Dungeons, sometimes these are easy to find, other times not. It should be noted however that dungeons are normally meant to be done in groups as the enemies inside are normally of a higher grade then those found out on the fields of the Unlimited Neutral Zone. They can also only be 'plundered' once, enemies will respawn but the items guarded by them will not.

Enemies

The natural denizens of the Accelerated World, beasts that roam the Unlimited Neutral Zone, they are all deadly in one way or another with even the lesser beasts being able to easily take down a level 4 Burst Linker. They have an aggro range as any other enemy in a MMO and are the only other way to gain Burst Points other then hunting other Burst Linkers in the Unlimited Neutral Zone.

The classes of Enemies range:

Normal Class
Ultra Class
Beast Class
Legendary Class
God Class (exclusively reserved for the Four Gods who guard the Imperial Palace

Once more to note, normal class enemies can easily kill a lone level 4 Burst Linker so unless grouped it is best to avoid these beasts.

Global Connect/Network

This is the Global Network that is what most connect to, to note it is prohibited to connect to this network at school and thus there is a school network provided.

School Network

Necessary to connect to, due to the need to check in for attendance and lessons.

Enhanced Armaments

Refers to equipment or weapons owned by Duel Avatars. Can be obtained through several methods such as received through starting equipment, level up bonus or brought from the shop in the Unlimited Neutral Zone. To note, equipment changes aesthetically to fit the owner.

'Parent' and 'Child'

A 'Parent' is the Burst Linker who has provided the programme to another, they in turn are the 'Child' to this Linker. It should be noted that the bond between Parent and Child in Brain Burst is one of the most important and strong bonds s Burst Linker can have and not something treated lightly.

Killer Gauge

A gauge that increases when causing damage, taking damage or dealing damage to the environment and gaining gauge from the terrain destruction bonus. It should be noted however that using abilities or Killer Moves does not increase the Killer Gauge.

Spectating

In Brain Burst it's possible to watch the matches of other Burst Linkers that you have registered.

Registration is done through either: registering an opponent straight after the battle, registering through direct connection with another Burst Linker, registering through a Linker seen while spectating another's match already.

Those you register will be under the Watch List, when a battle starts for someone on your watch list you will automatically accelerate with no cost incurred and be placed in the Gallery of the stage. The Gallery is an area for spectators to watch, cheer and at times interact with the fighters. However it must be noted it is rude to give advice, comments are fine but advice is frowned upon it is more the 'Parents' duty to do such and even then before the battle.

Fake social/dummy avatars are also normally used by spectators as to keep their identity hidden.

It is also possible to invite someone to spectate with you or spectate your own match.

It is possible exit the match early if the spectator wishes to.

Spectators do not have a health gauge nor can they destroy the environment however in turn they are given maximum speed and movement ability to get to the Gallery or follow the fight.

If both fighters agree, it is possible for them to purge the gallery and have the fight be unseen though this is far from normal.

Fake/Dummy Avatars

These are the dummy avatars taken by Burst Linkers when they wish to hide their real identities and their appearances vary, normally up to the Burst Linker as to what they look like.

It is also possible to use the common <> which has the appearance of a paper doll.
